GUIDED – ALGARVE - FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

Cycling in the AlgarveFancy trying a cycling holiday but think you are too unfit or too inexperienced – then this is the holiday for YOU.

You will cycle with a guide who will look after you and starting in the mountains of Monchique you will make your way through the week to Sagres and Cape St Vincent considered by the Romans to be the 'end of the world'. The roads are quiet, the scenery fantastic and there will be plenty of stops for refreshments if you should need.

This is the perfect opportunity to come and give it a go, the holiday is for beginners with distances of no more than 42km and if you find that too much you can always ride in the support van.

All accommodation is booked in a twin / double room with en-suite facilities and breakfast.

Itinerary

Day 1 – arrival in the Algarve and transfer to Monchique. Overnight Monchique with dinner.

Day 2 – a circular ride around the foothills of Picota and Foia, through out the day you will enjoy stunning views down to the coast and over the foothills, 36km. Overnight Monchique.

Day 3 – a fabulous day as you descend from one of the highest points in the Algarve down to the coast through unspoilt countryside, 42km. Overnight Lagos.

Day 4 – a short circular ride along the Alvor estuary where you see local fishermen tending to their nets and also collecting clams from the tidal muds, 32km. Overnight Lagos.

Day 5 – your journey continues along the coast passing through tiny villages to the old fishing village of Salema, 35km. Overnight Salema.

Day 6 – today you have a chance to visit beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches as you head westwards to the ‘end of the world’, 32km. Overnight Sagres.

Day 7 – for your final day you can either take a well earned rest and possibly visit the old Sagres fort or if you are feeling energetic you can cycle Cape St Vincent, the most south-westerly point in Europe, 20km. Overnight Sagres with dinner.

Day 8 – transfer back to your departure point.
