The Island of Sao Miguel offers a combination of extraordinary views and amazing places and is a great place to bike. Sao Miguel is the largest of the archipelago's nine islands; it is commonly known as the Ilha Verde (Green Island) and provides a rewarding introduction to the Azores.
This cycling holiday allows you to see the very best that this island has to offer at a very leisurely pace so that you can really appreciate all that the island has to offer.
All the rides are on quiet surfaced roads and the accommodation we use are comfortable 3/4* hotels with extensive facilities.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel. Transfer service to Solar do Conde (or similar) manor house in Capelas, about 12 kms from the airport. Balance of the day at leisure.
Day 2 – Bicycles are delivered to your hotel at 9:30am. Day free or 20 km tour on level road.
Overnight at Solar do Conde with buffet breakfast
Day 3 – Tour to Sete Cidades, the twin caldera lakes in the western side of the island. Overnight at Solar do Conde with buffet breakfast
Day 4 – Solar do Conde to Furnas, about 45 km distance. The first part is along a level stretch, followed by a steep hill climb and then downhill to the town of Furnas. Luggage transfer between hotels is provided for you. Overnight at Hotel Terra Nostra (or similar) with buffet breakfast
Day 5 – Furnas area, a 25 km tour on easy roads. Visit Furnas lake and Ribeira Quente, a typical fishing village where you can enjoy a swim in the ocean. Overnight at Hotel Terra Nostra with buffet breakfast.
Day 6 – Furnas to Ponta Delgada. A 45 km tour begins uphill for 3 kms, the rest of the tour is a combination of downhill and level roads. Luggage will be transferred between hotels for you. Overnight at Hotel Marina Atlantico (or similar) in Ponta Delgada with buffet breakfast
Day 7 – Time to explore Ponta Delgada before your afternoon transfer from hotel to airport.
